The Minnesota Wild season is over, but that doesn mean we can reflect on the good (and bad) times wee had watching this team in the first round https://www.storeminnesotaonline.com/Dakota_Mermis_Hoodie-64. From extending it to seven games and coming so close to the comeback, to some individuals coming out of their shells, it wasn a postseason that we should wash away and forget. But now, let talk about some standout performances. His performance shouldn encourage GM Bill Guerin to deviate from the obvious decision to expose him in the expansion draft, but the Wild owe him for what he did for them in the playoffs. Kyle: Joel Eriksson Ek. I could quote all the advanced stats Ekker would be near the top in all of them, and they would have been even better had he not had TWO goals overturned in this series. But even without his non-goal that was called back for offsides even though Fiala was being hooked on the play, and even without his non-goal that was called back for goaltender interference on Foligno that, while technically the correct call, was called differently against Wild opponents in the regular season, Eriksson Ek absolutely put his stamp on the playoffs for the Wild. He was there generating chances and making passes right when they needed him to be. And while Brodin injury in Game 7 was the gut-punch that stunned the Wild, Eriksson Ek reaggravation of his leg injury in the 6-2 loss was the finishing blow. Sure, he did come back to the game (his resiliency being another feather in his cap for MVP), but he wasn the same player in Game 7 (31. 25 CF% in 11:06 TOI, with only 19. 07 xGF%), and after he left, the Wild had absolutely no chance to stay in what would have to be a high-scoring game. Thomas: It has to be Cam Talbot for me. I don want to repeat anything that was previously said, but this dude faced a barrage of shots almost every game and kept this team in it. I think beyond any offensive contribution, Talbot was able to stay steady and provide more than anyone else. Who was the most disappointing player in the seriesJustin: Most disappointing was probably Rask, no points all series in spite of playing with Kaprizov or Fiala the whole time. I guess I wasn expecting much but to be given the role he has had this year he didn perform at the level of that expectation. Matt: Jared Spurgeon. There is no easy way to put this; Jared Spurgeon had a pretty underwhelming 2021 season. Even worse, it continued into the postseason. While his three assists and zero goals in the seven games is probably right along his career averages https://www.storeminnesotaonline.com/Jonas_Brodin_Hoodie-44, his usually strong defensive play wasn really there. In just under 23 minutes per game, Spurgeon and his partner Ryan Suter had a 47% xGF, the worst amongst the Wild defencemen. He even ended the series at minus-6, which was tied for last on the team with Kevin Fiala. Plus/minus is a terrible statistic, but with such a small sample size, there aren many context-sensitive numbers. You just need more from your number one defenseman. Seven shots in seven games, while letting the Golden Knights forwards run roughshod in your own end, isn what this team needed from it captain. Kyle: Kirill Kaprizov. Put your pitchforks away, Wild fans, and let me explain. Yes, he a rookie, and this was his first taste of the NHL playoffs. Yes, he was going to be a focal point for the Golden Knights to shut down from the drop of the puck in game one. And yes, he bore the brunt of a lot of physicality. But since the league has had to be hyper-division focused this year, it not like he was going to sneak up on teams. Vegas has known about him for a while now, and teams have had an eye to stopping Kaprizov since late January. It hadn worked this well until now. And I not saying all or any of this is his fault after all, he ended up with just as many goals and points as my series MVP, Joel Eriksson Ek. But no one came into the series with as much hype as Kaprizov. So the fact that he was shut down for most of the series, and the fact that Dean Evason couldn (or wouldn) find a line combination that would free him up to do what he could do best, is a bit of a disappointment. We all wanted to see Kirill shine brightly on the NHL biggest stage, and it just didn happen. No matter where the blame lies, you have to admit it disappointing. Thomas: Victor Rask is the easy answer here, but he was also put in a position that he clearly didn belong in. It demonstrated some goalscoring efforts during the regular season and the combination between him, Kaprizov, Zuccarello worked most of the time. It was truly disappointing to see it come crashing down and him dragging down the top offensive line with him Brad Hunt Pillow Cover, but it also comes with a little sympathy. Who were you most surprised byJustin: Most impressive was either Suter, Parise, Hartman, or Fiala. The three role players elevated their game visibly for the playoffs and Fiala was a workhorse the entire time. I also noticed that whichever star Hartman was centering was always going on that night. Matt: Zach Parise. It tough to find a player that truly surprised this postseason. Whether we like to admit it or not, the outcome of the series was not entirely surprising. This is a team on the up and up, and while there wasn that much roster turnover from last year, it felt like an entirely new team. For any new era, success doesn come without taking some lumps. But it was a player that has had trouble finding space in this new era that was the most surprising. The decision to scratch Parise wasn controversial, or ill-advised. He struggled to make an on-ice impact for most of the season, and for the best chance at success, the Wild were going to be better off with Parise in the press-box. But when he finally did check in to the series in Game 4, he seemed determined to make a difference. Parise ended the series with two goals and an assist, after playing in the final four games of the series https://www.storeminnesotaonline.com/Matt_Bartkowski_Face_Mask-182. Parise future may be uncertain, but there might be a spot for him as a spark plug player that doesn play every game. There no doubt his health is slowing him down.

The next month signals a huge opportunity for Dallas Stars prospect Thomas Harley. He has a chance to improve upon his performance last year in training camp, and earn a starting role on a great team who is poised to make a deep run and win a championship https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Baron_Browning_Pillow_Cover-279. I talking, of course, about Team Canada in the 2020 World Juniors. Harley failed to make the team last year, but he confident that his experiences from that training camp and the year since will make a difference this time around: got invited because I can get up in the rush https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Essang_Bassey_Flag-421, create offense in transition and in the offensive end and then play shutdown (defense) as well. I didn do that. I want to build off of last year and the experiences I got at the camp and make the team this year, play a big role and win the gold medal. hould Harley make the team, it would in a way serve as an extended audition for an NHL roster spot with Dallas. But while Harley would love to be in Victory Green this upcoming season, he still be excited to return to the Mississauga Steelheads in the OHL: going to try my hardest to make the team (in Dallas), Harley said. f not, itl be my last year in the OHL, and I think we have a great shot to make a run at the league title this year, so that my hope. ou can read more from Saad Yousuf here. It been a tumultuous start to this NHL season. A lot of teams are dealing with risky COVID situations and, on more than one occasion, Ie questioned the point of it all. That said, hockey isn likely to stop anytime soon, and that means we get to feast our eyes on whatever Winnipeg gives us. The first few Jets games have been a smorgasbord of varying quality Trevor Lewis T-Shirt. Wee had great periods, wretched periods, and incredibly fortunate results. Tonight, Winnipeg had a chance to genuinely earn a win against Ottawa. Did they give us the goods, or crash-land earlyThe First PeriodThe opening 20 minutes probably saw the most back-and-forth action of the evening. The Sens looked decently hungry for a revenge match after blowing a lead on Tuesday. Winnipeg seemed up to answer the bell, and both sides had some decent end-to-end action. While surrendering shots and trading chances isn ideal, Il happily take that over the boring and listless shellings wee seen from the Jets in previous outings Adam Lowry Hoodie. Photo by Richard A. Whittaker/Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesDespite Ottawa owning a slight edge near the slot area, Winnipeg ended up breaking the deadlock first. The second line, captained by Danish war hero Nikolaj Ehlers, hit paydirt on a shot from distance that Matt Murray completely missed. Ehlers let one go from a high central point and beat Murray between the pads, giving the Jets a nice moment of serotonin on the road. If you were worried Winnipeg would squander the early lead, worry not, because what followed was a paddlin .The Second PeriodWinnipeg apparently decided humiliating the Sens was the best course of action. The Jets spent the middle 20 minutes looking like the Harlem Globetrotters in the offensive zone. Countless shifts saw Winnipeg pinning the Sens deep behind their own blueline, hounding the puck and creating great opportunities in the low slot. The pressure just caved Ottawa in, and before you knew it, Mark Scheifele, Adam Lowry, and Blake Wheeler had already scored to put the Jets in control at 4-0. The last time we saw a period this dominant was against Calgary during the season opener. It felt more like the 2017-18 Jets, a team that will forever live in my heart. The puck movement was crisp, the attacking positioning was great, and the defensive cut-offs were nearly perfect. The Jets were working as the hockey gods intended, and we could all pop a few cold ones and kick it. The Third PeriodWith a 4-0 lead never looking in doubt, the Jets took the last 20 minutes off. It hard to blame the team, especially with a condensed schedule and plenty of games upcoming. The Sens did scratch one goal off of a feed to Chris Tierney, but couldn get anything else past Connor Hellebuyck. Winnipeg Vezina winner was once again sparkling, even if his workload was a bit lighter than usual https://www.storewinnipeg.com/Josh_Morrissey_Hoodie-64. Photo by Richard A. Whittaker/Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesIf I had to choose one thing to complain about, it be the curious decision not to give returning rookie Ville Heinola more ice-time. Every time Ville was on the ice, he was doing something positive. His defensive markings were great, and his considered distribution created a lot of good breakouts. When danger arrived near Hellebuyck, Heinola was there to seal it off and strip the puck. This staff should learn to trust the young Finn a lot more. He a step ahead of every other defender on this roster, and ready for bigger responsibilities. Feed the beast, Maurice. Three TakeawaysThe defense performed quite well. Forbort, Heinola, and Stanley all acquitted themselves nicely tonight. While I certainly not as high on Logan as others, it easy to see a scenario where he eventually cements a third-pairing role. When he has time and space to make plays, he can be solid as simple, but effective, physical presence on the blueline. Heinola, as expected, was mature beyond his years and calm on the puck. Forbort. . . . man, maybe extend this dude for a few years. He good good. Kyle Connor might have turned a corner somewhere. Of all the top-6 forwards Ie felt conflicted about, few have stuck with me as much as Connor. His defensive play and offensive IQ often made me wonder if he ever become as good as his deployments suggest. Something changed with Kyle this year. His passing, decision-making, and linemate utilization have noticeably improved. Sure, it not earth-shattering stuff, but it having a tangible impact on his space creation. If Connor can keep this up, Winnipeg is in for a treat. This is how the Jets can play at their best. Please keep playing like this, Winnipeg. Wee all in for some bumps along the way Connor Hellebuyck Flag, but this roster still has some serious juice when it firing on all cylinders. The Jets are still without Dylan DeMelo and Patrik Laine. Once they come back, this team might be in for some fun, if flawed, games in the coming months.

The St. Louis Blues could be a sleeping giant in the postseason. Why Let focus on Blues right winger and alternate captain Vladimir Tarasenko Nathan Walker Flag. Tarasenko missed the first half of the regular season due to a shoulder injury, but he has returned to on-ice action and he has been picking up the pace at the right time. ISt. Louis has 12 games left in the regular season: two games against Colorado, four games against Minnesota, two games against Anaheim, two games against Vegas, and one game against Los Angeles. The Blues have a tough late season stretch, but anything is possible in the coming weeks. Tarasenko has appeared on the scoresheet in three of his last six games dating back to April 5. He scored one goal and recorded five shots on April 7 versus the Golden Knights at the Enterprise Center https://www.stprostoreonline.com/Jacob_De_La_Rose_Pet_Jersey-175. Right now, Tarasenko might not be the goal-scoring machine that he once was, but he injured his shoulder, and as a result, he had to miss five months. There are a few question marks around his future as he has a history of shoulder injuries, and another one can be detrimental to his career. He fortunate to recover and play the sport that he loves https://www.stprostoreonline.com/Glenn_Hall_Flag-162. If Tarasenko continues to deliver offensively, St. Louis can close out the season on a more positive note but there a catch. The Blues have to score more goals and improve their defense. One player can drag them across the finish line alone.

Over the next few weeks, wel be taking a closer look at the Titans free agent class Jeffery Simmons Pillow Cover. One by one, wel provide some basic details on the player before making an argument for both sides why the Titans should, or shouldn re-sign that player. Wel also offer our final verdict and a prediction to go along with it. Name: Daren BatesPosition: linebackerAge: 30Why the Titans should keep Bates: Bates is a fan favorite and it sure was fun to see him back in Tennessee in 2020 for his second stint as a Titan https://www.tennesseefanstoreonline.com/Daylon_Mack_Pillow_Cover-369. His energy on the sidelines is infectious. He an excellent teammate and a fun personality in the locker room. As for his skill set as a football player, Bates is an excellent special teams player. The team signed him in mid September in part to sure up their special teams units. Bates could provide the same special teams ability on the field in 2021 that he did in 2020 https://www.tennesseefanstoreonline.com/Mason_Kinsey_Pet_Jersey-528. He played in this system for several years now and he knows it well. Why the Titans should let Bates walk: Hel turn 31 years old during the 2021 season. While it was a lot of fun to see Bates in two-tone blue in 2020, the organization should be able to find a younger player to fill his spot. Final verdict: It time to move on. Prediction: The Titans let Bates play his football elsewhere in 2021. What are your thoughts Should the Titans re-sign Bates Leave your opinion in the comments.

The mystery that surrounds the Houston Texans quarterback carousel many are expecting to return this upcoming preseason is being driven primarily by the question; When will rookie Davis Mills start Not if https://www.houstongearonline.com/Alex_Erickson_Pillow_Cover-229. READ MORE:Culley For NFL Coach Of The Year Big Houston Texans Odds - And PayoutOn Friday, the Houston Chronicle John McClain gave his opinion on when he expects to see the highly anticipated Stanford product. We will see him after the bye week for the last eight games because they have to see him for a good part of the season so theyll know what they have, said McClain on SportsRadio610 with Clint Stoerner and The Show. Because if by some miracle he could be the guy, that he can show them that, it would change next year draft considerably. And if he not then of course theyre going to have to get a quarterback in next year draft. Many believe Mills has the talent to be a first-round pick, but his lack of college starts led to his falling to Houston in the third round. Something that McClain believes will prevent him from seeing the field early on in the season. The tough part for Davis Mills, hell have the mental part down, it when he has to get on the field and start doing things, that wouldve helped him to spend another year in school and on the football field wouldve made that transition much easier, suggested McClain. With the future of Deshaun Watson in question, and if nothing else his career in Houston presumed by most to be over, the Texans are clearly looking forward given that they signed not only Mills but veterans Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Finley https://www.houstongearonline.com/Ryan_Finley_T_shirt-101. READ MORE:I Went Crazy: Texans DT Blacklock On Houston Drafting TCU Teammate WallowAt the moment, ask almost anyone and theyll say that Taylor is the presumptive starter. A former Pro Bowler, he an experienced dual-threat QB with experience with head coach David Culley, QB coach Pep Hamilton, and offensive line coach James Campen. However, while he will likely start Week 1, his history of injuries when being used as a stop-gap starter is troubling. Last year when Pep Hamilton was his coach with the Chargers he got hurt with that freak injury, had his lung punctured on a pain-killing shot, and Justin Herbert had to start before the Chargers wanted him to, said McClain, and it wasnt just in LA where he had this happen. 2018, [the] third game he got hurt and they had to start Baker Mayfield before they wanted to. McClain later suggested that he believes they will start Mills when he ready out of necessity as they prepare for next year draft Terrence Brooks Flag. However, if lightning strikes a third time and Finley struggles as his replacement, then Mills may well see action sooner than would be ideal. But McClain also made the salient point that the key is to not throw him to the dogs when he not ready. Former Texans wide receiver Cecil Shorts followed this up by pointing out that this is exactly what happened with both Blaine Gabbert and Blake Bortles while he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars, both of whom are now perennial backups who never quite hit the heights expected of them. Ultimately, if McClain is right and the Texans wait until the final eight games to see what Mills can do, that would mean his debut would come in Week 11 at the Tennessee Titans https://www.houstongearonline.com/Desmond_King_Ii_Hoodie-166, with his first home game being the following week against the New York Jets.

The Miami Dolphins players on Friday joined players from other teams over the last few days to release a statement through the NFL Players Association about the 2021 offseason voluntary workouts Austin Jackson Pet Jersey. The NFLPA has been pushing for a completely virtual offseason, similar to last years coronavirus-impacted offseason, as a way to continue protocols against the virus. When the NFL released a part-virtual, part-live offseason schedule, it appears the NFLPA and the players took things into their own hands to keep the offseason as virtual as possible. Half the teams in the league have now seen their players release a statement about the offseason plans. While many of the statements indicated the players from that team would be skipping voluntary workouts as a complete unit Austin Jackson Flag, Miami players stopped short of that wording. Our team came together to discuss the current situation regarding COVID-19 and the lack of clear and timely protocols put into place by the NFL. The most significant fact from that discussion was the health and safety benefits of a fully virtual offseason. Last year, league-wide injury data showed players experienced a 23% reduction in missed time. For these reasons, the Miami Dolphins stand in solidarity with players across the league who are making informed decisions to exercise their rights to not attend voluntary in-person workouts this offseason https://www.miamigearonline.com/Nat_Moore_Hoodie-123. We will hold each other accountable in making sure every player is getting their work in. Fins Up! The key point of all of this, whether looking at the Dolphins or any other team in the league, is that this all about the voluntary workouts. While teams try to make them expected workouts, the NFL-NFLPA collectively bargained agreements makes them voluntary, with no allowable punishments if players do not attend. Nothing says the players are planning to skip mandatory minicamp, just the voluntary workouts. And, nothing from the Dolphins players statement says they are all going to stay away from the workouts as a team. Where the Rams players stressed that s a team we will not be attending in-person voluntary team activities, the Dolphins players only said they stand in solidarity with the other teams and that they will hold each other accountable for preparing for the season. Does that mean some Dolphins players will attend the workouts Do workout bonuses factor into that decisionThe NFL offseason program this year will consist of a four-week Phase 1, which will run from April 19 to May 14. This phase will consist of virtual meetings with players able to use the team facility and weight room, but now on-field work or drills. There can only be 20 players in the facility at any given time and only 10 in the team weight room. Phase 2 will run from May 17 to May 21, with virtual meetings and on-field drills at a teaching pace. No contact is allowed and there are no more than two hours of activity allowed per day. Phase 3 is from May 24 through June 18, with 10 days of organized team activities at full speed without contact. Team meetings may be virtual or in-person. There can only be six hours of activities per day, with two of those being on the field. All coaches are allowed on the field and teams can hold 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills during this period. During this time, there will be one mandatory minicamp. Rookie minicamps will be held either in either the first or second week following the 2021 NFL Draft. Rookie development programs will be allowed during Phase 2 of the offseason program. After the NFL announced the new offseason plan earlier this week, the NFLPA released a statement, describing their recommendation for players to opt-out of the voluntary workouts:The NFL announcement does not address any of the concerns raised by the players. The slight modification only extended hase activity and reduced hase activity by two weeks. As players are making informed decisions about exercising their rights to not participate in the voluntary offseason program, it is our recommendation that due to the injury data, continued threat of COVID-19 and the lack of a comprehensive plan to protect players, that the safest decision would be to not attend any in-person club organized activities at your club. We will see what happens as the offseason training program begins next week.

After dropping two straight games, the Tennessee Titans are looking to bounce back at home this Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Similarly, the Bears started off hot at 5-1, but have since dropped two straight games. So who will get things right on Sunday at Nissan Stadium The oddsmakers in Vegas believe in the Titans, placing them as 6. 5 point favorites. The total currently sits at 47 points. The Bears are dealing with a couple of COVID situations that may greatly impact their offensive line. Cody Whitehair https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Shannon_Sharpe_Flag-649, Jason Spriggs remain on the COVID/Reserve list, while Bobby Massie was placed on IR this week. As we saw last week against the Bengals though, a depleted offensive line doesn guarantee a win. The Titans have their own issues this week, who will likely be without Jadeveon Clowney. This comes just days after the team released Vic Beasley, which puts the team in a depth bind at outside linebacker. Getting any sort of pressure on Nick Foles will be a massive key. Foles has been pedestrian since taking over for Mitch Trubisky under center, throwing for 1,411 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Allen Robinson has been the main contributor offensively, powering through shaky quarterback play to haul in 50 catches for 631 yards so far this season https://www.denverproshoponline.com/Jordan_Leslie_Flag-477. Robinson will be a big issue for a Titans secondary that has struggled all year, but theyl have a different look going forward. Desmond King is on track to play on Sunday after being traded from the Chargers earlier in the week, while Johnathan Joseph has been cut. Additionally, Adoree Jackson may finally be able to return. So can the Titans stop the bleeding and get back in the win column Can they cover 6 Justin Simmons Flag.
